The name Lacrimosa, which could be translated as ‘full of tears’, is inspired by Mozart’s famous Requiem. Founded in 1990 by the German-Swiss musician Tilo Wolff, the eponymous band, alongside Anne Nurmi, explores the realms of symphonic metal, gothic and dark wave. Oscillating between painful melancholy and lyrical grandeur, their tracks celebrate extreme emotions.
